Eight colleges and universities dot the region, offering extensive physics and astronomy related courses as well as an incredibly diverse array of student groups. The Finger Lakes is also home to two high quality amateur rocket ranges in Geneseo and Penn Yan, offering extensive opportunities for residents of all ages.
